New Home Park has probably never witnessed a match like todays before. With the visitors’ Aldo Maria Maggiore having ordered off for two shocking challenges, which saw both Emilio Juárez and José Eransus carried off, Brook Street were quick to put their numerical advantage to good effect with Kyle Fair netting in the thirty-seventh minute.

Despite being down to ten men, FMG were putting the home team under intense pressure, and this increased substantially after fifty minutes when teenage full-back Maranaj Batusha was forced to go between the sticks when substitute keeper Horia Pătraşcu was injured.

In spite of this however, the home team managed to hold on to record the win.

While delighted with the victory, the coach was critical of performance of referee Kieran Alison.

“I’ve had two players carried off today through two diabolical challenges, and we’ve been kicked about the park the whole game. The officials lost control of the game, and I’ve lost a keeper and midfielder for a week because of it. This isn’t good enough”.

While Juárez and Eransus will be missing for a week, the news isn’t so good for Horia Pătraşcu who looks likely to be out for at least a fortnight.
