Vitor Leocadio opens the scoring against Screwy 11 in this morning's Scottish Cup tie.

Brook Street safely secured their passage into the third round of this season’s Carling Scottish Cup, courtesy of a 6-1 win against Screwy 11 today.

It took a while to break down the stubborn home defence, but after Vitor Leocadio opened the scoring just after the half hour mark, three goals in the following fourteen first half minutes, through Al MacHarold, Charlie Greusach and Al Caird killed off the home team’s challenge.

Although Screwy 11 pulled a goal back just before an hour’s play, Street were never in any danger of collapse and added two more, in eighty minutes through Al Caird and Al MacHarold to complete the scoring.

Eskild was happy with his sides’ performance, saying, “I feel we did well today and controlled the game from start to finish”.

He added, “It took us a while to break them down, but we knew that once we got the breakthrough goal, we’d score more”.

“Now I believe we are heading for the north east in the third round, so we’re fairly clocking up the miles”.

It wasn’t all good news for Brook Street though as Laurent Etcheverry picked up an injury that could see him miss this weekend’s league match.

“We’re hoping he’ll be ok for the match with FMG, but it’s certainly possible he’ll miss out”, said Eskild.

“Hopefully, we’ll have a better idea tomorrow”.
