Jake MacConnechy rifles home his first goal for the seniors on his debut against Ball Busters FC

Captain Al Caird led by example in today’s Scottish Cup third round tie against Ball Busters FC netting a hattrick in our 4-1 win. Brook Street’s other goal was scored by debutant Jake MacConnechy.

A pleased Eskild Bøgholm said afterwards, “We gave them a bit more possession than I would have preferred, however we were solid in the middle of the park and didn’t give them a lot of opportunities.

He added, “Al showed how clinical he can be in front of goal today and I was also pleased for Jake, scoring on his debut for the senior side. He tired in the second half as the pace of the game caught up with him, but on the whole I’m very pleased with his performance. Definitely one for the future…”

Brook Street now face another trip to the west in the next round as they have been drawn against barony celtic in the fourth round.

“We’ve had a quick look at them, and from first impressions I’d say they’re likely to field their first team. That however won’t change our game plan”, said the coach.
