Kyle Fair unleashes the shot that resulted in the winning goal for Brook Street today.

Kyle Fair’s thunderbolt of a shot four minutes from time was all that separated Brook Street and Tachyonstorm at New Home Park today.

It had been a particularly frustrating afternoon for Brook Street and the fans as despite having the lions-share of possession, creating a number of chances and having what appeared to be a stonewall penalty denied, the Tachyonstorm defence seemed to have be on the way to achieving an invaluable away point.

However with four minutes remaining the ball was knocked sideways to Kyle Fair from a free-kick, and as soon as the ball left his boot there was no doubt that the points were staying at New Home Park.

“It was a strike worthy of winning any game”, said the coach after the match. “As soon as the ball left his boot, we all knew it was net-bound”.

He continued, “Tachyonstorm had played a very defensive game, and to their credit, they had done so particularly well. They got lucky with the penalty claim, but it was down to us to break them down”.

“We kept our shape though, and eventually got our reward”, he concluded.

The win saw the side move out of the play-off zone into fourth place.
