As a result of today’s disastrous result in Glasgow which saw the club all but mathematically relegated, a board meeting was hastily convened at New Home Park once the team arrived home.

Following the meeting, the following statement was read out by the Chairman:

“In light of the recent downturn in fortunes for the club, the Board of Directors of Brook Street Athletic Football Club have been conducting a review of the current status of the first team.

Following this process and discussions with the Coach, the Board have decided unanimously that a change of direction is required and that regrettably Eskild Boghølm will be leaving his position as Coach by mutual consent. We wish to thank him for his dedication and hard work both as player and coach in his fourteen seasons with us. His professional character, devotion and conduct were impeccable.

The Board has also decided to appoint Arjen Bogaert as the team’s new coach. Changing coaches is always a hard decision to make, however we are certain that now is the right time to do so, and give the whole team a boost. Difficult times may lay ahead for the club, but as a Board, we are convinced that Arjen is the right man to lead the team forward, and he will be joining us with immediate effect”.
