Onésimo Murube and Paul O'Healihy head to celebrate with the fans following Onésimo's spectacular strike.

Athletic stormed to an impressive 7-0 win against Jimmy’s Wiggles over in Fife this afternoon. Jose Eransus opened the scoring in only two minutes, and from that point, we never looked back.

Onésimo Murube doubled the lead in the eighteenth minute in spectacular fashion, finishing off a fine move with a scissor kick, and Paul O’Healihy extended the lead to 3-0 from the penalty spot after thirty-two minutes, by which time Athletic were cruising.

Two minutes later, only the upright saved Jimmy’s from going a further goal behind, following a fine strike by Igor Bulatov, keeping the half-time score at 3-0.

Andy Hautala got his eighth goal of the season in fifty-eight minutes to make it 4-0, and Yann Schories got number five in the seventy-first minute.

Jose Eransus got his second of the afternoon with seven minutes remaining, and only a last-ditch goal line clearance denied Onésimo Murube his second, two minutes later.

Igor Bulatov capped a fine individual performance with a goal of his own three minutes from the end to round off the scoring.

“We set the trend with the early goal, and never gave them a chance to get into the game”, said Arjen afterwards. “We bossed midfield and never gave them a sniff of a chance”, he added.

He continued, “It is indicative of our domination in all areas of the park that our defence never gave them a shot at goal, both our strikers scored, and almost every player in the midfield scored. Even although Kyle [Fair] didn’t score, he was easily man of the match”.

“It was men against boys out there, and we showed just how good a team we are”.
