Andy Hautala’s third minute strike was enough to separate the teams at a full New Home Park this afternoon and with it, secured our second title in as many seasons.

This time however, there will be no lottery of a play-off, as Brook Street now have accrued enough points to ensure that Division III football will return to New Home Park next season.

“That was probably our worst display of the season, but to be honest, no-one will really care”, said a jubilant Arjen Bogaert at full-time. He continued, “We have retained our title and have also ensured our promotion, and that’s all that will be remembered”.

“The lads have worked their socks off this season, and have now got the reward that their efforts fully justify. They’re a terrific bunch of lads and deserve their place in Division III”.

Captain Kyle Fair paid tribute saying, “The boys have worked extremely hard for this moment, and thoroughly deserve it. Having endured the heartbreak of losing the play-off last season, we were desperate to make it up to the fans this season, and having now secured our promotion, I hope the fans have a good time tonight – they’re the best!”
