Paul O’Healihy has a shot blocked as Athletic go in search of the equaliser.

Brook Street crashed to their first league defeat of the season in Inverness this afternoon, Primo Scardino’s third minute strike being enough to separate the sides.

And his side’s second defeat in three days left Arjen Bogaert angry and frustrated, particularly as it has transpired that had we won, tonight we would have been sitting top of the league.

“Every point this season is a prisoner to us”, he said, “so we can’t afford to be throwing away points as we have done today”.

He added, “We gave away a soft goal early on and that gave them something to defend. Despite having the lion’s share of the ball, we couldn’t do anything with it. We simply have to be more lethal in front of goal”.

He concluded, “Next week we have an extremely important game against the league leaders. We cannot afford to be so lax on Saturday, otherwise we will pay a heavy price”.
