Jake MacConnechy fires home our consolation goal.

In his own words, Arjen said Athletic were “simply outclassed” by Schwarzenegger Allstarz this afternoon, crashing to a 4-1 away defeat which sees us go into the second half of the season in fourth place.

“It was one-way traffic right through the game and we simply couldn’t break out. We got a consolation goal late on, but that was from the only chance we created in the whole ninety minutes, and if I was th Allztarz coach, I’d be furious that we’d conceded a goal in a match that we could easily have won 8-0”.

He continued, “We just couldn’t live with them, and it just showed the gap between teams like us, and established sides in the division. We’ve started very well, especially as we’ve played more games away from home, but we’re far from safe. Ok, we’re only two points off second place, but we’re also only three points off a relegation place; the margins are that tight”.

He added, “From our perspective, we got off lightly today, albeit we weren’t at full strength, but we all know we’ve got to put more points on the board in the second half of the season to secure our Division III status”.

Arjen concluded, “I think it’s safe to say that morgan united will win the league, that goes without saying, and it looks like West Brisbane are adrift at the bottom; but there’s one automatic relegation space still to be avoided. There’s a hell of a lot of football to be played, but I think another four or five points will be enough for us”.

Elsewhere, morgan swept aside second placed Carbrain 5-1, kaos c.f edged past Inverness 1-0, and Much Rucking took the points by defeating West Brisbane 2-0.
