Yann Schories half-volleys us into the lead right on the stroke of half-time.

Brook Street will go into the second half of the season just two points off top spot following this afternoon’s 3-1 home win over Schwarzenegger Allstarz this afternoon.

Yann Schories had opened the scoring right on the stroke of half time, half-volleying a long through ball, and Nemanja Janković added to it seven minutes after the break.

Although the visitors pulled a goal back through an Achim Köb tap-in five minutes late, José Eransus restored Brook Street’s two-goal advantage with seventy-two minutes on the clock and with it wrapped up the scoring.

Acknowledging that his side would go into the second half of the season two points behind leaders Much Rucking ITM, Marcus said, “Results have worked well for us, and it shows just how tight this league is. Everyone is capable of beating everyone else on their day, so it makes for a very interesting second half of the season”.

He continued, “The top four sides look to be opening a slight gap on the bottom four at the moment, however the title race is wide open”.

“We’re only two points off top, but with only eleven points separating top and bottom, the margins are extremely tight”.

Turning to this afternoon’s win he said, “The lads did very well this afternoon. Every one of them played for the shirt today, and it was particularly pleasing how we dominated the game”.

“We were a bit sloppy at the back for their goal, but other than that, I am very pleased with the performance”.

Igor Bulatov’s booking just before half time means that he will be suspended for next weekend’s return fixture.
