Oscar MacVarish fires in what proved to be our consolation goal in this afternoon’s 4-1 defeat.

With league positions settled, Brook Street took the opportunity to take it easy against jabbathehut this afternoon, ahead of our Division III play-off next weekend.

Although it resulted in a 1-4 home defeat, of much more concern to Marcus was the injury sustained to keeper Ville Yrjölä who had to be replaced in the first half following a nasty collision.

“Ville could be touch and go for next weekend”, admitted Marcus afterwards, adding, “We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the week, but at the moment it’s not looking good for him”.

“Today’s result is irrelevant. What was important was that we got through the match without incurring any injuries, but unfortunately that’s not been the case. Now we have to prepare for the play-off potentially without a back-up keeper, which is probably the worst scenario we could be facing. However, we’ve just got to get on with it”.

Brook Street will now face Division IV.44 champs Pathetic Athletic in next weekend’s play-off.

“It’s a real tough one for us”, said Marcus. “probably one of the hardest we could’ve got to be honest, but we’re used to tough games and we’ll certainly be up for the challenge”.
