Abel Soffia slams home our equaliser, but parity would last less than a minute.

The Brook Street players were locked in the dressing room for over an hour following this afternoon’s 1-2 home defeat by Vines Cross as coach Marcus Lövman vented his fury at this latest home reversal.

The players were left in no doubt that performances such as today’s are completely unacceptable. Speaking later Marcus said, “I have told the players that if they think that today’s performance was worthy of a pay packet then they are sadly mistaken. More performances like that in the second half of the season will see us back in Division IV and I told them that the high earners will be the first to be axed if savings have to be made”.

He continued, “I laid it on the line to them. If they don’t get their act together, they could well find themselves looking for new employers. Today’s performance was not worthy of the shirt they were wearing, and if they thought it was then they could just go now”.

The coach’s fury was plain to see, and rightly so. “Yet again we dominated midfield yet did nothing with it” he fumed. “Even when we generated chances, the ball ended up in the crowd”,

He concluded by saying, “Normally the players would have Sunday off, but rest assured they’ll be in tomorrow”.
