The reserves wrapped up their season with an emphatic 9-1 win over Palestinian side Peace Patrol FC in Gaza this afternoon. On his comeback from injury, Leoš Loos hit four and there were doubles for Emanuel Bohucký and Matt Cocker. Rab Henderson netted our other goal.

Also making a surprise debut at wing-back was Palestinian teenager Jamil Feghali who signed from Honduran side Calcio Storico Club late last night.

Marcus was pleased with the performance and result saying, “It took us a while to click into gear, but once we hit the opening goal there was no holding us back”.

On his new signing, he said, “Jamil did well all things considered. He’d never met the team beforehand, and his fitness needs worked on, but he’s one for the future and showed composure. I think he’ll do well with us”.

There won’t be much of a let-up for the players though as the first round of the Scottish Cup takes place in a week’s time and in the draw at lunchtime today, we were paired with Division 5 side, thedon.

“We’ll be massive favourites for the game”, admitted Marcus, “but we’re playing at their ground, so we shouldn’t underestimate them”.

Kick-off on Christmas Day is at 10:30.
