A hat-trick of set-pieces from Brook Street’s captain Fraser Carragher helped the reserves to a 5-0 win over Sam Astr in Kuwait this evening. Our other goals came from Andrew Cleary and Oscar MacVarish in a game that was played in heavy rain showers.

“Rain was the last thing we expected when we came here”, laughed coach Marcus Lövman afterwards. “Who knows, it maybe gave us an advantage, but at least it was warm rain!”

Turning to the game itself he said, “We seldom get so many set-piece chances, so it was particularly pleasing that we managed to take them. Fraser puts in a lot of work with his free kicks and penalties, so it was good to see that pay off”.

He continued, “Andrew [Cleary] weighed in with another goal, and it’s obvious he’s going from strength to strength. It was also good for Zsolt Baboss to get ninety minutes under his belt on his comeback from injury”.

“We go into the game on Saturday with a clean bill of health and with confidence high. I can’t ask for more than that”.
