Brook Street and Vines Cross fought each other to a standstill in the mud at New Home Park this afternoon, both sides having to settle for a 0-0 draw.

“Both defences were well on top, and I think we lacked the guile to make the breakthrough”, admitted Brook Street coach Marcus Lövman at the post-match press conference.

“That said, we earned a good point”, he added, saying “Vines are a good side and I believe in a false position. It was a cast-iron certainty that there wouldn’t be much between the sides, and so it has panned out”.

He concluded, “It was important game for both sides, and I think the fear of losing had a lot to do with the way the match played out. The conditions certainly didn’t help, but I think we’re probably both happy with a point”.
