The reserves continued their outstanding unbeaten run this season with a 4-1 home win over Angolan side Tarrachinha F.C. at New Home Park this morning.

Matt Cocker opened the scoring with a fine solo effort after a quarter of an hour and Garabed Palasyan doubled the lead with twenty-two minutes played.

Raul Alexandre Simões pulled a goal back three minutes later as the visitors tried to pull the game back, but two yellow cards for Carlos Bizarra put paid to that.

Andrew Cleary fired in our third goal in the sixty-eighth minute and Matt Cocker rounded off the scoring with his second of the game three minutes later.

Afterwards, Marcus said, “We were thoroughly professional this morning. The lads did everything asked of them and were well worthy of the win against a very good side”. He continued, “Sure the sending off was important, but I think we had a lot left in the tank to get the win”.

When asked about the injury to Phil Mullally, he said, “It’s not too bad. It looked a nasty one, but Phil’s a tough lad and I’m sure he’ll be back for next week.
