Brook Street stuttered to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Carbrain FC at New home Park this afternoon. “We were second to everything”, admitted coach Marcus Lövman afterwards. “Carbrain were far more hungry for the win, and we got exactly what we deserved from the game”.

He continued, “Too many of our players thought that with at least fourth place secured, the season was over and that the job was done. They couldn’t be more wrong”

He then hinted of wholesale changes for the final match of the season next weekend by saying, “I’ve been patient with some players, but that patience is running thin. This club has to move forward and perhaps it is the time to give youth its chance”.

Finally, in a thinly veiled threat to his under-performing players he concluded, “I want players who will put in a proper shift for the club. They are paid good money, but there is no place for passengers. It may be that it is time for some players to move on”.

Whether this threat will have the desired result remains to be seen, however it may well be that some players’ days at the club may be numbered.
