It’s a case of déjà vu for Brook Street next week as, in a repeat of the opening match two seasons ago, we kick off the new season with a Hattrick Scottish Cup tie away to The Gothenburg Greats.

A repeat of our previous 8-0 win in Aberdeen would be the perfect start to the new season, but coach Marcus Lövman was playing down the Cup game saying, “The league is our prime concern, and we’ll be training this week with our league opener next Saturday in mind”.

He continued, “It is of course nice to get a good Cup run at the start of the season, but it isn’t everything. A good start in the league campaign is far more important in my view, as a bad start can leave you chasing everyone else for the rest of the season”.

On Wednesday’s match, the coach said, “It’s the first time we’ve drawn the same team twice in the Cup, but we’ll be expecting to progress without too much trouble. We’ll take a big following up to Aberdeen, and the fans will rightly be expecting a lot of goals. It’s up to us to deliver that”.

The match kicks-off at 1030 BST in Gothenburg’s Nya Ullevi Stadion.
