Brook Street made their now customary Scottish Cup Third Round exit this morning, crashing to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of League IV side Mc Stonehenge.

What annoyed the coach more than the defeat itself was the manner of it.

“They fielded a very strong side, so we were probably up against it from the start, however we didn’t trouble their goal at all, and that isn’t good enough”, he fumed. “We simply lacked the guile to find a way through, and I expected more from my players. We were outplayed as well as outthought and that is particularly disappointing, but I thought we could have competed more, despite being up against a good side”.

First half strikes from Gergely Kapus, Edwin Gonzalez and Thanos Potiroulis left Brook Street with a mountain to climb after the break, but Ionut Cucu delivered the coup de grâce just after the hour mark.

“Good luck to Mc Stonehenge in the Fourth Round though”, Marcus added. “They looked a very good team and could well get through a couple more rounds”.

However, it’s back to International Friendlies for Brook Street next week, but before that the coach will have to pick up his beleaguered players ahead of Saturday’s league visit of Kessler’s Eleven.
