Leoš Loos fires us in front with only three minutes played in this afternoon’s Angus derby.

With defeats elsewhere for both Carbrain FC and Kessler’s Eleven, Brook Street would have propelled themselves to the top of the league had they defeated Real Forfar by the same scoreline as last week. However they failed spectacularly as the bottom side took all three points with a Seb Sheffield hat-trick firing them to a 3-2 win.

It had started so well for Brook Street, who were looking for their sixth win on the trot, when Leoš Loos fired them in front with only three minutes played.

Play was raging from end to end in the opening exchanges and Seb Sheffield levelled in the sixth minute, before Nemanja Janković edged us back in front three minutes later.

Peter Bergman in the Forfar goal had to look lively in the twentieth minute to tip Eyüphan Toga’s volley over for a corner, while a minute later Seb Sheffield blasted wildly over at the other end.

However the Forfar striker made amends in the twenty-fifth minute when he fired home to tie the game.

Brook Street had had several chances to score in the second half but had squandered them all, and this was to come back to haunt them with ten minutes left when Seb Sheffield netted his third goal to turn the game on it’s head and fire the home side into the lead for the first time, and ultimately win the game.

It was a furious Marcus Lövman who attended the post-match press conference, as he fumed, “This is just typical of us. We do all the hard stuff, yet when it comes to definitely winnable games like today’s, we shoot ourselves in the foot. We warned the players time and time again to keep things tight at the back, and we’d pretty much managed to do that after our opening two games. However it was the Brook Street of the first two weeks of the season who turned up here today and that simply isn’t good enough”.

He continued, “Apparently both Carbrain and Kessler’s have lost today, and that makes our defeat even more unpalatable. As a defender myself I’ll point the finger and say our defence let us down today. I’ve let the players know this in no uncertain terms and I will not tolerate a lackadaisical approach in future. They’ve got to buck up their game plain and simple”.

In a more conciliatory tone, he congratulated Real on their win and in particular the performance of hat-trick hero Seb Sheffield.

“Just as Eyüphan was for us last week, the lad Sheffield was just as unplayable for Real today. He could do no wrong and every time he got the ball he looked a threat”.

He continued, “To their credit, Real set up to hit us on the break and that worked well for them today. They took their chances while we didn’t, so we’ve only got ourselves to blame for this defeat”.

Elsewhere, Carbrain FC’s 5-2 mauling by Airth Castle Rovers was the main talking point while there was a 1-0 win for Vines Cross at home to Kessler’s and a 4-0 thumping for -*FC BARCELONA*- away to EK Tuggers.
