Brook Street Athletic are through to the #Hattrick Scottish Cup Second Round without kicking a ball. Away to Baad MB in this morning’s First Round tie, the home side couldn’t field a team so lost the match by a 5-0 scoreline.

“They’ve not fielded a team for a long time, so we expected this today”, admitted coach Leoš Loos after the referee called the match off. “While we would have liked to get a competitive match under our belts before the new league campaign starts on Saturday, we’ll at least go into that match with a full squad at our disposal”, he added.

In the Second Round, Brook Street will travel to the Highlands for a clash with Division IV side Nae Hopers City next Wednesday.

“To be honest we’re concentrating on our League fixture this weekend”, said Leoš when given the news. “While the Cup is a welcome distraction, the League is more important for us, and we’re looking to get a good start in the new campaign”. He continued, “We’ve been notorious for our bad starts to the season, which makes things difficult for ourselves. I want to change that under my tenure. The board of directors have shown faith in me by giving me this position on a permanent basis. Now it’s time for me to repay that faith”.

Brook Street kick off the new campaign with a trip to face new boys Euclidean Dynamo in the Highlands on Saturday.
