Brook Street started off brightly but faded in Saturday’s match against Brahms & Lizst, ultimately losing 5-2.

Matt Cocker powered home a header to open the scoring, but the lead lasted only two minutes before Ignacio Álvarez levelled for the home side. Then, to make matters worse Kalvin Asher fired Brahms in front three minutes before the break.

Andrew Cleary broke through to fire Brook Street right back into contention with a quarter of an hour to go, but the home side survived the wobble and Ewan Rankin re-established their two-goal advantage four minutes later and Ignacio Álvarez made the points absolutely safe three minutes from time.

“We started well, but once we scored we committed the basic error of not defending the lead well for the next ten or fifteen minutes”, admitted a clearly disappointed Leoš Loos. “A side is at their weakest right after they score, and we showed exactly that today. That’s the most disappointing aspect of our performance”.

Elsewhere, in the north east, Euclidean Dynamo edged out Aberdeen Raiders by the odd goal in seven; 412225AHGC saw off Slovan Braggislava by three goals to one; while Vines Cross and Stellar Ayrshire shared two goals.
