The reserves eased into the next round of the Tartan Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win away to Mancheserdeen 04 United this lunchtime.

Fraser Carragher broke the deadlock in the thirty-seventh minute with a textbook free-kick, but it took until midway through the second half, and Samuele Ferretto’s bullet header, for Brook Street to double their advantage and curb the home side’s threat in a pulsating match that raged from end to end.

That threat was not truly extinguished until four minutes from the end when Nicky Breaden pounced on a loose ball to drive home his first senior goal.

“It was a tremendous game for the neutrals and I’m glad we kept our composure to record the win”, said Leoš Loos at full-time. United, put up very stiff resistance as we anticipated and it took a long time to break them down, but I told the players to stick to the game plan and we would eventually get the breaks. That happened, and we’re through to the next round”.

He also commented, “It was good to get a clean sheet too as we’ve been a bit lax at the back in recent matches. A repeat of today’s performance and result is now what I’m looking for on Saturday”.
