The pick of the bunch: Muhammad Noorani volleys home our third goal just before half-time. Despite this the ‘hairdryer treatment” beckoned.

The Leoš Loos half-time ‘hairdryer treatment’ certainly worked its magic this evening as a lacklustre Brook Street got the kick up the backside it needed to secure a home win that should never have been in doubt.

Having been pegged-back twice, going into the break the New Home Park side had an unconvincing 3-2 lead despite scoring some terrific goals, but the half-time team talk certainly had the desired effect as the home side netted four goals without reply in the second half to record the 7-2 win.

“Yes, we weren’t good enough in the first half”, said the coach, “so we threw down the gauntlet at the break”.

He continued, “To their credit they took it up, and with an outstanding second half performance, well and truly threw it back in our faces. I have no problem with that”, he added, “as it’s exactly the reaction we were looking for”. However we shouldn’t have needed to do that in the first place”.

Concluding, he said, “It’s another three points and keeps us right up there. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters”.
