Duncan Stanfield slams home his first goal for the senior side to secure the win.

Brook Street eased into the Third Round of the Tartan Cup and a Tayside derby against Alyth Athletic with a comfortable 3-1 win away to FC Wildhours 2. Sam Ferretto opened the scoring in the twentieth minute and Alex Clapperton doubled the advantage with a cheeky back-heel three minutes later.

Jan Sanigorski fired the home team back into the game with a goal just after the hour mark, but Brook Street were not to be denied, and Duncan Stanfield made sure of the win fourteen minutes from time with his first goal for the senior side.

“It’s not a competition we have a particularly good record in, so it’s good to get through to the Third Round”, admitted Leoš Loos afterwards. “Our next opponents have started the season well and are currently top of their league, so it’s likely to be a tough game”, he added.

“That won’t change our planning though, and the reserves will continue to get a run-out”, he said.
