Andrew Cleary slams our consolation goal into the net.

While this afternoon’s 6-1 defeat at the hands of Caerlaverock Knights was a tough one for Brook Street’s players and fans to take, it was not unexpected, certainly not for the coach.

Speaking afterwards, Leoš Loos said, “I’m already on record as saying this Knights side are the champions in waiting, and today’s disappointing result does nothing to dissuade me from this view”.

He went on, “As far as I’m concerned, they are essentially a Division II side spending a season in our league. They’re way ahead of any other side in the League, and it’s no surprise to me that they are running away with the title”.

“We simply couldn’t compete with them, such was their dominance, but it’s not games like this we need to be winning; it’s ones like next weekend’s against Smyllum Rovers. Win this and we’re potentially back in the mix; lose and we’re deep in the mire”.

Before that ‘six-pointer’ however the Reserves have a friendly match on Wednesday when Finnish side, JK Saksipotku visit NHP.
