A near full-strength Brook Street Athletic kicked off the Eike Alanne era with a comprehensive 7-0 thumping of Swiss VII Liga side königliche at New Home Park this morning.

Andrew Cleary netted the opener after only three minutes, coach Eike Alanne added a second with seventeen played, Andrew Cleary fired in his second via a deflection two minutes later, along with subsequent goals from Muhammad Noorani, Matt Cocker and Alex Clapperton had Brook Street out of sight with only thirty-six minutes played.

Fortunately for the visitors however, the home side eased up in the second half and only added one more goal through Matt Cocker after sixty-six minutes.

“It was a real mismatch in the end, but we showed up well which is all I’m concerned with”, said Eike after the match.

“We played some really good incisive football, our finishing was excellent, and our passing was first-rate too”.

He concluded by saying, “I’m delighted by our performance, but would have preferred it to be more of a challenge than it turned out to be”.
